Another fabulous summer has passed here at Praia D’El Rey, with the resort full of families and friends busy enjoying our beaches, the golf course, our tennis centre and all the summer competitions and events we organize every year. It’s also been a great summer for us in other ways – in June the golf course celebrated its 10th anniversary (it opened back in 1997) and in September we heard that the world’s leading travel agents have voted us Portugal’s Leading Resort 2007 at the prestigious World Travel Awards (top right), regarded by many as “the Oscars of the travel industry”.

Our 10th anniversary celebrations in late September were the highlight of our summer – when over 120 famous names and friends of Praia D’El Rey came to help us celebrate success. World famous golf architect Cabell B. Robinson (below left), who designed our course back in 1997, came back to play again here for the first time in ten years and was delighted with how the course has matured. “Golfers collect courses. It’s part of the passion of the game”, he says. “You can’t collect tennis courts, they’re all the same, but golfers love to ‘collect’ courses. This course, I believe, has now matured into greatness and is one which golfers all over the world will want to ‘collect’. “All great courses take time to settle down and mature, but it was a pleasure to come back and look at what has been achieved here. In property terms lots has been happening on the resort this summer and we have just released some stunning new properties onto the market. They have also signed contracts with several new tour operators and travel partners in order to bring in more rental business.
