Praia D’El Rey is situated on the Atlantic Coast and so has some of the best windsurfing in Europe. We also have kite surfing, surfing, sea water canoeing available and just 10 minutes away in Óbidos, scuba diving is available.

On the area of beach nearest the hotel, there is life guard position that is occupied by qualified staff during summer.

In order to maintain the quality of the playing surface we restrict access to individuals or organisations hiring the pitch. In the summer months, Clube Aventura, our children’s club, holds both classes and games on the ground.

The tennis centre is run by a member of Portugal’s national coaching staff and can be booked for lessons, either as a one off or as a series.

The hotel’s health club is open to all residents of the resort, though payment is required for any of the treatments in the spa or personal training.

Our personal trainers are all coached by Jonathan Goodair, one of the UK’s leading instructors. There are three main courses; the Total Body Plan, Total Abs Plan and the Total Golf Plan.

Bike tours, as well as walking tours, which take in the local area, are available. Also, in Peniche and Foz do Arelho there are two equestrian centres which offer fantastic facilities for experienced or new riders.

Besides the award-winning golf course and the wonderful ocean and sun, Praia D’El Rey is perfectly positioned to take advantage of the cultural heritage of the Silver Coast and Oeste region. A short boat ride will see you on the famous Berlengas Island, whilst a little further away lay the towns of Sintra and Fatima both world renowned. Closer to the resort and you will find some outstanding vineyards which offer tasting tours, and should you like the wine – discounts!

On the resort there are currently two stores open, the General Store – stocking a wide range of household goods, and the Grocery Store – stocking fresh produce for home cooking. In the next phase of Vila da Praia, there are planned X shops.

You can hire cars through the hotel at a discounted rate.

The Praia D’El Rey “Clube Aventura” Outdoor Activity Center & Games Room offers daily outdoor activities up to 16 years old. Our professional and qualified Team will keep children occupied with an extensive array of onsite and offsite activities.
