| In December 2006, Praia D’El Rey Golf & Beach Resort was voted Golf Resort of the Year – Europe 2007 by the International Association of Golf Tour Operators (IAGTO). In association with Hertz, the IAGTO awards are the official annual awards for the golf tourism industry and reward exceptional contributions in the golf travel world. In choosing Praia D’El Rey as the best performing golf resort of the year, IAGTO’s award reflects the views of the golf travelling clients of 250 tour operators from 40 different countries. The resort won on several counts, including customer satisfaction; the quality of the golf course and accommodation; value for money; tee time accessibility and speed of communication/staff efficiency. |
Homes Overseas Award 2006 - Best Apartment
| Praia D’El Rey Golf & Beach Resort won the prize for Best Portuguese apartment by the Homes Overseas Awards in 2006. The Homes Overseas Magazine Awards judge new overseas property developments on behalf of the British public, probably the world’s largest single market for foreign property purchases. The awards, which recognise and reward the very best in international real estate, showcase the finest new international properties across the eight most popular destinations for buying abroad: Cyprus, France, Italy, Portugal, Spain and its islands, South Africa, Central and Eastern Europe and the USA (Florida). Since its launch the awards have been expanded to cover a broad range of countries and products that are now attracting interest from British consumers. |

Bentley International Property Award 2005 - Best Portugal Development
 | The inaugural International Property Awards were presented in 1995 covering 10 different categories. Praia D’El Rey Golf & Beach Resort won the category for Best development in Portugal in 2005. The International Property Awards, sponsored by Bentley, International Homes magazine and The Daily Mail, are the Oscars of the property industry. They distinguish the highest levels of achievement in a range of property-related fields. The criterias include the location of the development, the target market, external appearance of the development, architectural design and the interior design, marketing and safety, security, energy efficiency and innovation. The panel of 12 judges for 2005 was chaired for the eighth year by the British MP, Eric Pickles. He was joined by Editor-in-Chief of International Homes, Helen Shield, along with distinguished experts in the field of property, design and construction, property writers and fellow sponsors. |

 | The Praia D’El Rey Golf Course was described as a Portuguese gem set in enormous, undulating dunes, which weaves in and out of pine forest. Four holes flank the spectacular ocean giving you that wonderful crisp sea breeze and views of the Berlengas Islands beyond. A fabulous course. The greatest golf course designer who has ever lived, Dr Alister Mackenzie, once said: “A great golf course is like a great piece of music, it may take more than one visit to really appreciate it.” Given this, picking the Top 100 courses in the world makes the labours of Hercules look like a three-foot putt. The ranking is not based purely on the merits of the course, the list is much more about the experience. |
